Szymdows Search is an independent search engine that crawls and indexes websites across the open web. Unlike large commercial search engines, it is built and maintained by a single person with a focus on transparency, simplicity, and respect for website owners.

Search results are served entirely from a curated index - no third-party search APIs, no sponsored results, no ads. What you see is what the crawler found.

Websites are discovered and crawled by SzymdowsBot, a custom web crawler. The bot visits pages, reads their content, and stores key information - the page title, URL, and a short description - into the search index.

Crawling is done gradually and politely, with delays between requests to avoid placing any load on websites. The index is periodically refreshed to keep results as accurate and up-to-date as possible.

You can also suggest a website for indexing directly via the Submit page, though submission does not guarantee inclusion.

Every website submitted through the submission form is reviewed manually before being added to the index. Sites that are spammy, malicious, deceptive, or otherwise low-quality are rejected. This helps keep the index clean and trustworthy for everyone.

If you come across a result in search that shouldn't be there, you can report it using the report button on any search result.

SzymdowsBot fully respects the robots.txt standard. If a website instructs crawlers not to index it, the bot will honour that instruction and the site will not appear in search results - even if it was submitted manually.

Website owners who wish to be excluded from the index can add a Disallow: / rule for User-agent: SzymdowsBot, or contact us via the feedback form to request removal.

Szymdows Search is built with a focus on speed and simplicity. The entire search backend runs at the edge with no traditional server infrastructure.
